The Boomers’ Educational Workshop is just the thing students need to help them learn, HANDS ON. They see the benefit and practical applications of their classroom lessons.
The Boomers! Educational Workshop Physics & Motion Video along with Tutorial and Key is provided to be used in the classroom. This should take approximately one class period to prepare for the visit and one class period to review and complete the package afterwards.

1. Physics Program
Learn what makes a go-kart go. And what makes it stop. Understand the dynamics of a roller coaster design and how laser tag works. Take a scientific look at your favorite arcade games and attractions. Includes workbook and key as well as a behind the scenes roller coaster tour. Designed to improve student understanding of physical concepts though a “hands-on” approach, with emphasis on FCAT performance.

2. Safety Awareness Program
Local police officers, firefighters, and EMTs discuss important safety concepts in daily life. Test drive SIDNEY (simulated impaired driving vehicle) which simulates impaired driving in a protected environment.
3. Vocational Day
Go behind the scenes at a family entertainment center. Students get a tour of the maintenance shop, learn the upkeep of a go-kart, and experience an instructional workshop.
4. Career Day
Boomers representatives discuss all the duties involved in running a diverse entertainment business. Students see first hand a day in the life of management to better understand the effort and analysis required to calculate the budget, as well as the mechanical components and operation. |
